However, choose freelancers with care.  Before you sign or agree to anything, you should let the web designer review the specs of your website or give them a rough draft of what you think you want and let them present an abstract of your project and get them present a proposal and bid on your project. Shop around, so you get the best deal. Ask for portfolio and references. Doing this will help you you better choose the designers based on their experience, past transactions and customer feedback.

Another route you can take is to design your website yourself (DIY Web design). Think about it, if you only need 5 simple pages to present some simple information, why waste hundreds of dollars for it? Just spend a little time to sit down and do it yourself.
